Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions I get asked all the time around my marketing coaching:

Can you do my digital marketing for me? As a coach, I help my clients create a roadmap and strategy that is specifically for them. Part of my process and coaching is showing and helping them learn ways to delegate their marketing. I don’t handle digital marketing, such as planning out posts, etc. However, I teach my clients how to hire someone to delegate the marketing.

Are you a coach and consultant? I define a marketing coach as someone who works with their clients to develop a custom marketing strategy. I then educate my clients on how to execute the strategy with their resources. A marketing coach can be your advisor, confidant and mentor. Overall a coach can encourage their clients to take action and stay consistent.

A marketing consultant will work with their clients to develop a marketing strategy, but they will also spend time doing the work. A consultant will often work with a business over a longer time period, usually on a retainer basis and will execute the activities for their clients.

When does my business need marketing? Marketing should be happening all of the time, on a consistent basis. Most of the time, I see service-based businesses spend a few weeks or a month to market, only depending on if they have “time” for marketing. What usually happens is the rollercoaster effect: 1) the business owner gets busy with paid work, ignoring their internal marketing work; 2) their paid work comes to a violent halt and they scramble to do some marketing to fill the pipeline; 3) go back to 1. It’s a very disruptive pattern that leaves many folks exhausted with very inconsistent income.

Effective marketing is being consistent with tried and true methods through testing and experimentation. Learning to “fail fast” is key to building upon different marketing channels that can prove to be successful again and again. For example, having an email newsletter sent to customers on a regular basis (2x a month) can prove to be a cost-effective marketing method vs the random newsletter sent 1x a year.

Why do I need a marketing roadmap? Just like successful navigators use a map to help them reach their destination, a custom marketing roadmap is created “just for your business.” It’s set up as a guide and gives you suggested activities you can do each month that can help you move closer to your goal of more speaking, more clients and other possibilities. 90 Days is a good measurement of time to capture data and access if activities are successful or need adjustment.

What People Are Saying

Nedra is good at asking questions that make us think differently about our marketing approach and why we're doing it. She's not afraid to suggest alternatives that might be outside the norm of our industry.

We felt like she was giving us guidance based on what we wanted and were doing and not because her suggestions had worked for herself or others.
